BF6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult

The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered significant enthusiasm, particularly for its premier multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.

Players have started resorting to tailored sessions created through the custom game tool to complete them, underscoring just how arduous these challenges have become.

Comprehending Battlefield 6 Objectives

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four categories of assignments, but while the majority only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of obtaining 12 of the 41 primary weapons found within the game.

Some of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most extreme examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and is effective only at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you want to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Ridiculously Tough Mission

A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with marksman guns

This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game right now, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and perhaps Operation Firestorm at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.

The Alternative Method

Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to design tailored experiences on any map you prefer, complete with bots. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.

But when doing the challenges in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, who can blame someone for finishing these in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It won't come as a surprise if a number of these missions are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.

Currently, the community continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a more balanced gaming experience in subsequent patches.
