Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were contacted by a resident who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then located numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the incident rendered him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
